The green of the near future

Carbon Offset Certificate

ITAL G.E.T.E’s focus on the environment does not end with production. Waste disposal is key if sustainability is to be ensured, especially in the spray paint supply chain. This is why the company turned to Omnisyst’s specialists to organise its industrial waste management in the most efficient way possible – optimising logistics and reducing the environmental impact.

Using a specific algorithm, certified by UNI standards and the result of technical and scientific analyses, Omnisyst has accurately measured the dimensions of the CO2 footprint resulting from the transport of ITAL G.E.T.E. waste – which responsible management requires should be treated differently depending on distances, needs and types of material.

Total emissions have thus been neutralised: once converted into CO2 credits – as certified by the reference body CO2 Advisor – ITAL G.E.T.E. was able to “spend” the amount on green projects that offset the quantity of carbon dioxide emitted, thus cancelling out its impact.

ITAL G.E.T.E.’s offsetting credits for 2020 will be used to finance the Parbati Hydroelectric Project in India.
This is a hydroelectric energy system whose design consists of diverting a tributary of the River Parbati and building a gravity dam to generate energy through the precipitating water mass. An intervention that will bring concrete benefits particularly to Himachal Pradesh – a hilly zone in northern India.

“We are really proud of receiving the Carbon Offset Certificate for CO2 neutralisation and of seeing our commitment to the planet take immediate effect in the form of actions that can make a real difference. It’s an initiative we’re proud of and one that fits in with our ethical approach to environmental wellbeing”. says Giulia Lombardi, Chairman of ITAL G.E.T.E.
